M&C Saatchi LA is seeking a Director of Social Media with a strong strategic background to help execute best-in-class social media and content strategy for a range of clients. Looking for a data and insights driven thinker who also understands the creative process and how insightful strategy informs great social creative. Looking for someone who can glean actionable insights from unexpected places and have the ability to articulate them to internal team and client. Must have experience in formulating channel strategy, creative briefs, new business pitches, social listening, data analyses. As a team leader the Director of Social Media will manage a team of four community managers, two analysts and have ability to tap into full agency capabilities where needed including creative, content studio, PR/Experiential and Digital Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in social strategic leadership for overall agency as well as individual clients
  • Creating strategic frameworks for new clients and providing feedback and fresh thinking to existing client base
  • Develop and integrate social strategy into broader brand strategic frameworks
  • Lead development of social campaigns/content strategy, themes, objectives, and messaging across multiple client verticals from food and beverage to tech to entertainment
  • Establish and articulate social brand voice, including integration of broader strategic objectives, messaging, and marketing goals
  • Must hold a deep knowledge and understanding of tech, culture, entertainment, business and social media trends and be able to translate and apply this knowledge into actionable strategies for our clients
  • Lead clients through analysis and reporting and constantly be in search of actionable insights
  • Leverage research, performance data and social listening tools to develop insightful strategy

Requirements

  • 6+ years progressive experience managing social media for large consumer facing clients, agency experience a plus
  • 2+ years managing direct reports
  • A strategic thinker who develops long-term and results-oriented plans that will add value to our client’s brand
  • In-depth knowledge of social and digital media channels and an understanding of how to apply them towards business and brand goals
  • Must be a self-starter in terms of research, staying on top of the latest and greatest trends in digital and social media
  • Working knowledge of social media content management systems and data analysis tools
  • A strong understanding of the utility and the limitations of organic and paid social media
  • Proficient abilities in presentation software such as PowerPoint and Excel
  • Relishes working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal
