M&C Saatchi is proud to announce that it has taken home two Telly Awards for its branded content piece ROKiT Mobile – Derwin James + Jonas Never, a gold in the Branded Content – Sports category and a Silver in the Branded Content – Documentary: Individual category.
The piece was created for AOR client ROKiT Mobile to announce its partnership with rookie Los Angeles Chargers Defensive Back Derwin James. Because both ROKiT Mobile and Derwin James were both new to the Los Angeles market, M&C Saatchi needed a way to introduce them to the city that was both authentic and impactful.
They enlisted the help of iconic Los Angeles muralist Jonas Never to paint Derwin James coming out of one of ROKiT’s 3D Smart Phones on a Venice Beach wall previously occupied by Lebron James. To amplify impact, M&C Saatchi PR gathered local and national media to witness the surprise and delight moment when the mural was unveiled to the Chargers rookie.
M&C Saatchi’s in house content team, led by Director Dan Roman and Head of Production Tara Hallarman, was there crafting an award-winning piece that ultimately expanded reach beyond the geographic confines of the mural itself.
